THE RIDE
AT A GLANCE.

What
One day, one group ride. We start and finish together in central London.
When
The Easter school holidays 2027. Exact date confirmed before registration opens.
Where
A loop through central, east and north London. About 45 km, mostly on cycleways.
Your target
£150 a month in new monthly support: £100 before the ride, £50 on the day and the week after.
Fee
Planned at £50. It covers first aid, support on the road and food at the finish.
Who
Adults on a hybrid or road bike. Young people can join for the final leg.

ONE RIDE.
SUPPORT THAT
KEEPS GOING.

Here For Youth trains, coaches and accredits the people who run youth work in mosques and community spaces. 1,000 Behind Youth aims for 1,000 people giving £10 a month, so that support doesn’t stop when one grant ends.

Riding is one way in. You ride; the people who believe in you back you with a small monthly gift. The ride lasts a day. The gifts keep going.

15 × £10
= £150 / MONTH

Fifteen people giving £10 a month is one way to reach your target. Any mix of amounts works.

This is an example, not money raised. Only confirmed, active monthly gifts count towards a rider’s progress.

THE ROUTE.

A loop that passes the youth projects and partner hubs your supporters’ gifts make stronger. We ride on Cycleway 3 along the river, the Lea Valley path and Cycle Superhighway 1. Because it’s a loop, there’s no coach home.

FROM NOW
TO RIDE DAY.

  1. Now

    Register your interest.

Tell us you’d like to ride. It takes a minute and commits you to nothing. We’re launching the ride at the Muslim Youth Engagement Awards on 7 November.

  2. Registration opens

    Confirm your place.

When registration opens, confirm your place and pay the fee. Riders raising for Here For Youth get a welcome pack and their own rider page to share.

  3. December–January

    Get ride-ready.

Use the holidays to sort out your bike, get it checked, and start telling your people why you’re riding.

  4. Ramadan 2027

    Ramadan Rides.

Each weekend, cycle to a mosque further from home for a prayer of your choice. It builds your fitness and gives you a story to share. Aim to reach £100 a month in support by the end of Ramadan.

  5. Easter holidays 2027

    Ride day.

We ride the loop together. Post updates as you go, and we’ll send you prompts through the day.

  6. The week after

    Finish strong.

Thank your supporters and bring in the last £50 a month while the story is still fresh.

TWO WAYS
TO RIDE.

Ride for Here For Youth

Raise £150 a month in new support for 1,000 Behind Youth. We’ll back you all the way:

  • A welcome pack with training and fundraising tips
  • Your own rider page to share with your people
  • Weekly check-ins and ideas for who to ask next
  • Prompts on ride day so your updates land

Ride for your own youth organisation

Mosques, youth clubs and hubs, in London or further afield, are welcome to ride with us and raise money for their own youth work. It’s a simple registration, and we won’t ask you to raise for Here For Youth.

WHAT WE
PROVIDE.

  • Support on the road. A support vehicle for breakdowns, and first aid.
  • Food at the finish. A meal and a proper welcome when we get back.
  • Help getting ready. Advice on finding a good second-hand bike and getting it checked.
  • A team. Everyone rides together, so nobody rides alone.

WHAT YOU
BRING.

  • A hybrid or road bike. BMX and mountain bikes aren’t suited to this ride.
  • A helmet. It’s required on the day.
  • Front and rear lights. USB-rechargeable ones are easiest.
  • A checked bike. Brakes, tyres and gears looked over before the day.

ORDINARY PEOPLE.
AN EXTRAORDINARY
REASON TO RIDE.

Personal stories, shared purpose and a lasting monthly commitment.

The next rider could be you.

Every rider gets their own page to share their story. They’ll appear here once riders sign up.

Ride as a team.

Ride with friends, colleagues or your community. A team’s progress adds up the confirmed monthly gifts made through its riders, with each gift counted once.

GOOD
QUESTIONS.

Is the date confirmed?

Not yet. We’re planning for the Easter school holidays 2027. The exact date, final route and fee will be confirmed before registration opens. Registering your interest now doesn’t commit you to anything.

How fit do I need to be?

It’s about 45 km at a group pace, mostly on cycleways, with stops along the way. If you can ride for an hour today, you have the winter and the Ramadan Rides to build up to it.

What counts towards my £150?

New monthly gifts from your supporters, counted once the first payment has gone through. Any mix works: 15 people at £10, 30 people at £5, or a few larger gifts.

I don’t have a suitable bike.

That’s fine. We’ll share what to look for in a good second-hand hybrid or road bike, where to find one, and how to get it checked before you ride.

Can young people take part?

Yes. Young people can join us for the final leg, with parental consent and extra support on the road.

Our youth organisation isn’t on the route. Can we still come?

Yes. Mosques, youth clubs and hubs from anywhere are welcome to ride with us on the day and raise money for their own youth work.

Where does the money go?

Into training, coaching and accreditation for the youth workers, coaches and volunteers who run youth work in mosques and community spaces. Monthly gifts mean that support doesn’t stop when one grant ends.

GOT A BIKE?
GOT A REASON?
LET’S TALK.

Register your interest and we’ll send you the confirmed date, route and rider pack as soon as they’re ready.

How would you like to ride?

Prefer email? Write to info@hereforyouth.org.

This registers your interest only. It isn’t a place on the ride, and nothing is charged.

Know someone
who’d ride for this?

Send them the challenge. A conversation can be the first mile.

A little, regularly. A lot, together.
